What exactly do I get?+
A real business phone number (local or toll-free), with calls, texts, voicemail and email all landing in one unified inbox. Email on your own domain is the next thing we ship, and it is included in your plan when it lands — today the number and the shared inbox are what you are paying for.
Do I need to know DNS?+
No. Connect the domain you own (or buy one in Alolu) and we set up MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for you — one click on supported registrars, copy-paste instructions everywhere else.
Why is a card required for the trial?+
SMS fraud. Free tiers on phone-number products get farmed by spammers, and that gets everyone's messages filtered by carriers. A card at signup keeps the network clean so your texts actually deliver. You won't be charged during the 7-day trial.
Is this a burner number app?+
The opposite. Alolu is a business second line: your identity is verified, your number is registered with carriers (A2P 10DLC in the US), and it's built to be the permanent front door of your product.
Can I take calls on my cell?+
Voicemail works today: missed calls arrive transcribed in your inbox, so nothing is lost while you set up. Forwarding calls through to your personal phone ships with early access, and the iOS and Android apps with full in-app calling come after that.
What's the AI tier?+
A planned upgrade where an AI employee answers your calls, texts back missed ones, and triages email — running on the same inbox you already have. Nothing to migrate, it just switches on.
